Volunteer Opportunities

Here you will find a quick description of volunteer areas to help you get an idea of what you might be interested in before filling out the Volunteer Application. 

The majority of our dogs are large breed and working on their manners so not suitable for all ages. We would recommend those coming with youth opt for non-dog related tasks.

Please note that each area has a specific time commitment associated as it does take our team time to train each new volunteer for each position!

Youth under the age of 18 years old are required to have a parent/guardian with them for the duration of their volunteer shift due to safety protocols

• Help care for dogs and cats in the Bandaged Paws Facility
• Feed, play and socialize while ensuring their area is clean
• Daily shifts available: 8:30-11am and 5:30-7pm
• Time commitment: Minimum 2 shifts per month

• Taking the dogs for walks around the facility or playing with them in the yards
• Note that it is mainly large breed dogs with minimal leash manners that will be available for this! 
• Daily shifts available: 10am-4pm starting every hour
• Time commitment: Minimum 2 shifts per month

• Take facility animals to and from vet appointments
• Donation pick ups
• Transport dogs or cats to events
• Pick up medications for facility animals
• Deliver items from the Pet Food Bank to those in need
• Varying shifts based on the needs of the animals and/or facility. Requests for help are typically posted to the Bandaged Paws Volunteer page on Facebook
• Time commitment: Minimum 2 transports per month

• A very important and ongoing duty!
• Fold and put away blankets and linens
• Wash & sanitize dishes, toys and litter boxes
• Daily shifts available: 12-2pm, 2-4pm & 4-6pm
• Time commitment: Minimum 2 shifts per month

• A wide variety of duties available to fit different comfort levels and skills. You can be part of the behind the scenes organizing or hands on with the public!
• Public Facing: Attend community events and providing information about Bandaged Paws to visitors, be a dog handler at events and talk to visitors about adoptable dogs, care for cats at events and talk to visitors about adoptable cats.
• Behind the scenes: Help organize volunteers for events, help prepare for events, set up and taken down of events.
• Varying Shifts based on the fundraisers and events happening 
• Time commitment: Minimum 6 hour commitment per month
